Cape Fear Trail # 445 – Kayak trail

Where:
Davis Creek Park boat launch, 574 Davis Creek Dr, Navassa, NC. We’ll drop trucks and/or kayak trailers at the end to bring you back to your vehicle. Or you can leave your vehicle at the end and we’ll bring you back to the launch. Whichever. Several CFH3 hashers have kayaks to lend so message in advance if you need to borrow a ‘yak.
Notes:
Kayak trail! Bring your kayak, canoe, SUP, or other seaworthy human-powered device to slowly paddle down the Cape Fear & Brunswick Rivers while drinking hash-provided beverages. You must have a PFD onboard your vessel. For safety, wear a whistle on your person and have your phone in a drybag. Bring a small cooler to hold some hash beverages on your ‘yak.
Why:
Because hashing… and beer! And kayaking!
- To promote physical fitness among our members
- To get rid of weekend hangovers
- To acquire a good thirst and to satisfy it in beer
- To persuade the older members that they are not as old as they feel
What to Bring:
$5, small cooler to hold hash beverages on your ‘yak, virgins, sunscreen, PFD, a spare liver, whistle, more virgins, sunglasses, change of clothes for after, drybag, kayak/canoe/SUP, etc.
